The Whispering Road

Nick Hennessey, Vicki Swan & Jonny Dyer aka Serious Kitchen

The Whispering Road is made up from two stories: the first written by Helena Nyblom in around 1897, called simply "The Ring", based on Swedish folklore and the second is a version of the story, "The Giant With No Heart in His Body" widely found across northern Europe. The story and the music in this show evolved side by side and work together perfectly. First created in 2012, The Whispering Road is modelled on the oral tradition, with rhythms and cadences that make it closer to poetry than prose.
