Earlier in the year we began working with storyteller and musician Gwilym Morus-Baird on an exciting new project, 4 Tales to Save the World.
It’s a brand new piece of storytelling with music and live technology drawing on original new writing, imagining Wales after climate crisis, from four of Wales’ most exciting short story writers – Kate Hamer, Joao Morais, Mary-Ann Constantine and Bethan Dear.
4 Tales to Save the World was originally conceived as a live performance including all four newly commissioned stories and, although we plan to tour this piece as soon as we can, events of 2020 have inspired us to dream up another kind of event…
And so, we are excited that 4 Tales to Save the World will now be enjoyed as four finely crafted, individual online events taking place every month from September – December 2020.
Each event will feature one story told live by Gwilym with original music, a short film offering an insight into the author’s writing and a Q&A between Gwilym, the author of the tale and the online audience.
Each will be a striking online, live event transporting us into four different futures, where climate crisis, inequality, mass extinction, identity politics, genetics and artificial intelligence have all left their mark on humanity.
Each taking us on a different journey either finding hope, despair or the simple humanity of people.
The first part – The Void by Bethan Dear is on Zoom on Saturday 19 September, 8pm – tickets are £7, tickets are available here.
